One Day Workshop on ‘Collaborative Proactive Solutions’ (CPS)

More about the main presenter:

Too often, the children who most need help become labelled as disrespectful, out of control and beyond help. They receive the most punitive and least effective interventions leading them, parents, teachers and administrators to frustration.

Collaborative Proactive Solutions (CPS) is an approach developed by Dr. Ross Greene (https://www.livesinthebalance.org), which offers a different framework for understanding challenging behaviour; empowering adults to address the underlying challenges and create helping relationships with children.

This workshop will provide an introduction to the CPS model for understanding and helping children with challenging behaviours. CPS is evidence-based and empirically supported, and is in use in a number of countries around the world. CPS has a track record for effectively and dramatically reducing discipline referrals, detentions, and suspensions, while improving children’s behaviour, relationships, and grades. Participants will leave this workshop with an understanding of the theoretical foundations of CPS, along with practical assessment and intervention tools that can be utilised in a number of contexts, including schools, after-school clubs, and in the home.
