The photo above was a recent Kids Club programme at the Dream Centre in Trench Town.
Two large extended families in Trench Town are involved in some gang activity, and there have been three revenge killings between the two sides in the last few months. This makes anyone connected to those families a potential target. This backdrop to life affects the children from those families the most (some of whom attend our clubs), but it also affects all the children in the community.
This backdrop shows why this consistent safe place is so important. Without it, the dominant values of the community are that the strongest do what they want, and others pay the price. Our goal is not just to sustain clubs at the centre, but to strengthen these programmes and release more workers to impact the lives of more children. Please keep praying for this.
